Shelties for Adoption
(Current as of October 30, 2014)

Maggie (ADOPTED)

Maggie is a 9 year old oversize Sable and White Sheltie who was turned into our rescue due to a divorce.  She has spent her whole life with a family with kids and being an overweight dog with skin issues.  Maggie now weighs 45lbs and she has 8 lbs more to lose.

We are working with her as it is a food issue and no exercise.  Maggie is very sweet and loving and will be ready for adoption in OCTOBER, 2014.  By that time she would have lost all the weight, her skin issues healed and be happy and very healthy big girl. Maggie is being fostered in Alabama

If interested in Maggie,  please download the application, fill out and either email or snail mail to me.

Pippin (ADOPTED)

Mr. Pippin is a 7 year old, born February 14, 2007, Valentines Day, Sable and White Sheltie.  He has been living with a family with children since he was a pup.  He is up to date on shots, on heartworm prevention, microchipped.  All these years he never liked children, but tolerated them, however, as he gets older, the energy of young children is just too much for him.  The family thinks he should be in a very quite home as he is jumpy at loud noises.  He is a sweet, sweet boy that loves people and wants to give kisses all the time.

He needs a home with a secure fenced in yard and maybe one other dog to play with, his size, or a home just for him to get all the attention.  He is being fostered in West Virginia. He is a beautiful and wonderful boy, neutered, up to date on shots, on heartworm prevention, microchipped..

If interested in Pippin,  please download the application, fill out and either email or snail mail to me.

Gideon

Gideon is a 4 year old Bi Black Sheltie born on February 7, 2010.  He has been retired from being a show/stud dog and is looking for a wonderful home.  The reason he is retired early is because he has some eye problems due to calcium deposits which causing him to not see clearly looking ahead, but he does have good peripheral vision.  We have been working with him and have been using a wonderful eye wash and it appears to be relieving some of the problems.  He is a good boy, loves to play with other Shelties and wants a wonderful forever home with a large fenced in yard to run and play.  He would not do well in a home with small children. He will be shy at first because he has lived most of his life in a kennel and not used to close interaction with people.  He has done so well in his foster home that we believe he is now ready to be adopted.

Won't you consider adopting Gideon to your home, with a big fenced in yard and another doggie to play with.  He is being fostered in West Virginia.  He is neutered, up to date on shots, on heartworm prevention, microchipped..

If interested in Gideon,  please download the application, fill out and either email or snail mail to me.

Charlie

Charlie is a precious Sable & White Collie/Sheltie mix about 5 years old and in good health, born in July 2009.  Charlie weighs about 36 lbs and is very tall.  The story goes that a neighbor of his owner was angry at his owners and took Charlie to the shelter.  The owner looked all over for Charlie and by the time he found out he was at the shelter, the shelter closed for 2 weeks due to a kennel cough outbreak.  Charlie never came down with kennel cough because he had all his shots including that from when the owner had him.  The shelter had just turned him over to our organization and then the owner found us, and said he would come by in a few days to pick him up.  He NEVER showed up or called again.

Charlie is such a good boy and deserves a good home.  He is neutered, up to date on shots, on heartworm prevention, microchipped..He was allowed to run loose and that is why he ended up in the shelter.  He needs a large tall fenced in back yard with pleanty of room to play and a few other doggies to play with.  He loves people, loves children, gets along with cats and other dogs.  He wants a home of his own as he likes to get in your lap...

Won't you consider bringing Charlie into your life and giving him the home he deserves with a big fenced in yard.  He is being fostered in West Virginia.

If interested in Charlie, please go to our application page and download, fill out and send to my email or snail mail.

Sugar Bear

Sugar Bear is a 7 year old Oversize Sable Merle Sheltie, June 26, 2007 who was turned into the shelter because the family couldn't take care of him anymore. He was so frightened sitting in the back of a cage on a cold cement floor. They had just sprayed down the floor with water and chemicals and he was shivering. Luckily for him someone saw him on the local website and contacted me and Sugar Bear only spent two days there. I was fortunate that the former owners were listed on the paperwork I received because they requested it to be. I found out a lot about the pup, and realized that he had been a fearful dog right from the beginning....I had his thyroid checked and sure enough he was low thyroid.  Sugar Bear is a pushy kind of guy, but does not like to be pushed into anything he doesn't want to do...Very independent. Sugar Bear does not like SMALL DOGS or SMALL CHILDREN and he also should be in a home with a fenced in yard and 1 or 2 other dogs about the same size as him.   He is ready for a new and wonderful forever home .

He is being fostered in West Virginia.

He is a beautiful and wonderful boy, neutered, up to date on shots, on heartworm prevention, microchipped, and on thyroid medicine.. Won't you consider adopting him. You can download our application, fill out and email or snail mail to me.

Molly (ADOPTED)

Molly is a 6-7 year old beautiful PieBald Sheltie (white, blue, black).  She was rescued from her home after neighbors noticed that there was no activity in the home for a few days and she wasn't outside.  Her owner had passed away and she was found laying beside her protecting her.  They did have a hard time getting her away from the owner.  Once in the shelter she settled down, had all her shots, got spayed, is microchipped.  When we put her in a foster home, she reacted to others as if she had to protect her owner all over again.  Molly went to behavioral training and we are glad to report that she has done well and overcome her problems.  However, we do need a home with a male and female family with strong leadership qualities as Molly is an independent dog most of her life and wants to be in charge.  She listens well and does what she is told however.  She is a beautiful and wonderful pup and deserves only the best (Fostered in West Virginia)

She needs a home with one or two other dogs, no small children, she gets along with cats, but needs a fenced in yard to protect her territory.

Won't you consider adopting Molly?  You can download our application, fill out and email or snail mail to me.
